About the position

The Application Developer IV role on the RyderShip team involves developing and maintaining software that supports ecommerce operations, including product receipt and shipment from RyderShip warehouses. The position focuses on maintaining robust backend systems and collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level integrations for core applications.
• Test applications using Unit Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and Smoke Testing.
• Support defect resolution from user and QA testing.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for Severity 1 issues.
• Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for Severity 2 and 3 support tickets.
• Collaborate with the team to determine, refine, and prioritize work based on needs.
• Work with developers, designers, and product owners for seamless integration and user experience.
• Mentor and guide other developers, promoting continuous learning.
• Develop, document, and maintain technical specifications and design documentation.
• Provide support to internal customers to resolve outstanding issues.
• Monitor application health by establishing dashboards and alerts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Three or more years of experience in Transportation Management and/or Distribution Management Technology preferred.
• Seven or more years of software development experience required.
• Strong competency in at least one modern web development language, ideally Ruby on Rails or Typescript.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud-based technologies.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
