About the position

The Senior Application Developer role on the RyderShip team involves developing and maintaining software solutions that facilitate ecommerce operations for customers. This position focuses on creating robust backend systems and collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality software that meets business needs. The developer will also mentor junior developers and ensure the application’s reliability and performance through testing and support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level integrations for the core application.
• Test the application using various testing strategies to ensure functionality before handing off to QA.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for Severity 1 issues and manage SLAs for Severity 2 and 3 support tickets.
• Collaborate with the team to prioritize work based on business needs.
• Work with other developers, designers, and product owners for seamless integration and user experience.
• Mentor and guide other developers, promoting continuous learning.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications and design documentation.
• Provide support to internal customers to resolve outstanding issues.
• Monitor application health by establishing dashboards and alerts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of software development experience required.
• Three (3) years or more in Transportation Management and/or Distribution Management Technology preferred.
• Strong competency in at least one modern web development language, ideally Ruby on Rails or Typescript.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in technical contexts.
• Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
