About the position

The Senior Application Developer role at Ryder involves developing and maintaining software solutions for ecommerce operations, specifically focusing on backend systems that support product management in RyderShip warehouses. The position requires collaboration with various teams to deliver high-quality software that meets business needs and enhances operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level integrations for core applications.
• Test applications using various strategies to ensure functionality before QA handoff.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for Severity 1 issues and manage SLAs for Severity 2 and 3 support tickets.
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize and refine work based on business needs.
• Mentor and guide other developers, promoting a culture of continuous learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Seven years or more of software development experience required.
• Three years or more of experience in Transportation Management and/or Distribution Management Technology preferred.
• Strong competency in at least one modern web development language, ideally Ruby on Rails or Typescript.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud-based solutions and services.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of ecommerce platforms and logistics operations.
