About the position

The Application Developer IV role on the RyderShip team involves developing and maintaining software that supports ecommerce operations, including product receipt and shipment from RyderShip warehouses. The position focuses on creating robust backend systems and collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that align with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level integrations for core applications.
• Test applications using various strategies such as Unit Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and Smoke Testing.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for Severity 1 issues and manage SLAs for Severity 2 and 3 support tickets.
• Collaborate with the team to determine, refine, and prioritize work based on business needs.
• Work with developers, designers, and product owners to ensure seamless integration and optimal user experience.
• Mentor and guide other developers, promoting continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications and design documentation.
• Provide support to internal customers to resolve outstanding issues.
• Monitor application health by establishing dashboards and alerts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field required.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Seven (7) years or more of Software Development experience required.
• Three (3) years or more of Transportation Management and/or Distribution Management Technology preferred.
• Strong competency in at least one modern web development language, ideally Ruby on Rails or Typescript.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in technical contexts.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud services and deployment strategies.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of ecommerce platforms and logistics operations.
