About the position

The Senior Application Developer plays a crucial role in leading application development services, focusing on analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and implementing complex solutions to meet customer requirements. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality technical solutions while adhering to Highmark IT standards and policies. The developer will also provide ongoing support for applications, mentor junior team members, and participate actively in project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of complex application enhancements.
• Provide general production support, ensuring minimal defects and adherence to defined scope, target dates, and budgets.
• Collaborate with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements and provide innovative solutions.
• Provide required technical support, including release implementations and on-call support as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all Highmark and Highmark IT standards, policies, and procedures.
• Participate actively in project teams in various roles, including Developer, Technical Lead, and Project Manager.
• Communicate effectively with team members, customers, partners, and management, including conducting technical walkthroughs and reporting project status.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• 5 years of experience as a developer.
• Experience with Project Management tools.
• Experience with databases.
• Experience with multiple coding languages.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Certification such as JAVA Developer, DB2 Certification, Cognos Certification.
