About the position

The Senior Application Engineer for Billing at GFiber is responsible for designing, building, and managing the billing and payments platform. This role involves developing scalable solutions, integrating third-party products, and leading engineering efforts to enhance customer experiences. The engineer will work collaboratively with various teams to ensure high-quality project delivery and foster a supportive environment for junior engineers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate scalable billing and payment solutions using Java/Kotlin and related technologies.
• Leverage products like Zuora and Adyen to configure, build, design, secure, and manage APIs and functionalities.
• Lead payment engineering efforts, providing technical guidance and support to team members.
• Manage payment operations, including software builds and patches, utilizing self-service tooling for API management.
• Collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects on time.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in building, configuring, and maintaining payment processing systems using products like Adyen and Zuora.
• 3 years of experience in software design and development using Java and/or Kotlin for billing/payment processing.
• 2 years of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience using Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Understanding of API security best practices and standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
