About the position

The Senior Application Engineer for Billing at GFiber will be responsible for developing and managing the billing and payments platform, ensuring a seamless experience for customers. This role involves working with third-party platforms and in-house applications, focusing on building critical Microservices APIs and infrastructure to support various client applications. The engineer will also lead a team, fostering collaboration and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate scalable billing and payment solutions using Java/Kotlin and related technologies.
• Leverage products like Zuora and Adyen to configure, build, design, secure, and manage APIs and functionalities.
• Lead payment engineering efforts, providing technical guidance and support to team members.
• Manage payment operations, utilizing self-service tooling for API management.
• Collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality projects on time.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in building, configuring, and maintaining payment processing systems using Adyen and Zuora.
• 3 years of experience in software design and development using Java and/or Kotlin for billing/payment processing.
• 2 years of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
• 2 years of experience using Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Understanding of API security best practices and standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
