About the position

The Senior Application Engineer for Electronics Bonding at 3M is responsible for collaborating with global teams to develop and replicate high-impact tape applications for the electronics market. This role involves understanding customer needs, providing launch support for new products, and diagnosing application issues. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and customer interaction, making it essential for driving innovation and customer satisfaction in the electronics sector.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global Application Engineering, Product Development, Sales, and Marketing personnel to develop and replicate high-impact tape applications for the Electronics Market.
• Identify the best 3M solution for an application by understanding customer needs, testing, and analyzing results, and communicating findings through reports and presentations.
• Provide launch support for new product programs by developing predictive test methods and generating supporting documentation, demonstration tools, videos, and training materials.
• Build a deep understanding of customer needs and competition for tapes used in the electronics market, providing performance feedback and new product ideas.
• Diagnose customer application or production issues and assist in resolving them promptly.
• Participate in early morning or evening meetings with a global team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
• Three (3) years of experience working with polymers or adhesives in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Current, valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

• PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science from an accredited institution.
• Two years of experience in Application Engineering.
