About the position

The Senior Application Engineer for Electronics Bonding at 3M is responsible for collaborating with global teams to develop and replicate impactful tape applications for the electronics market. This role involves understanding customer needs, providing technical support, and launching new product programs while ensuring compliance with regulations. The position offers a hybrid work environment with a focus on innovation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global Application Engineering, Product Development, Sales, and Marketing personnel to develop and replicate high impact Tape applications for the Electronics Market.
• Identify the best 3M solution for an application by thoroughly understanding customer needs, testing, and analyzing results.
• Communicate results to customers and the global application engineering team through written reports and presentations.
• Provide launch support for new product programs by developing predictive test methods, generating supporting documentation, demonstration tools, videos, and training materials.
• Build a deep understanding of customer needs and competition for tapes used in the electronics market and provide performance feedback, new product ideas, and competitive analysis.
• Diagnose customer application or production issues and help solve them in an expeditious manner.
• Participate in early morning or evening meetings with a global team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
• Three (3) years of experience working with polymers or adhesives in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Current, valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

• PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science from an accredited institution.
• Two years of experience in Application Engineering.
