About the position

The Senior Application Engineer in Mechanics at Gamma Technologies is responsible for assisting clients in maximizing the use of the GT-SUITE software platform. This role involves evaluating technical support requests, advocating for customer needs, and enhancing the software based on user feedback. The engineer will also facilitate customer training and support evaluation projects for potential new customers, contributing to the continuous improvement of the product and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and resolve technical support requests submitted via email, phone, or other channels.
  • Be the first line of defense in solving customer support requests and coordinating and prioritizing timely resolution independently and with the engagement of DevOps teams.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of typical business challenges faced by customers and common objectives to appropriately map features and associated business benefits to address their needs.
  • Serve as a customer advocate in shaping and driving the Mechanics product roadmap, enhancements, and improvements.
  • Facilitate customer trainings to ensure customer satisfaction and retention as well as maximum usage of our product.
  • Identify trends and inefficiencies to enhance support processes and improve the user experience.
  • Support evaluation projects for potential new customers.
  • Support internal software development and validation of new models and features.
  • Develop customer-tailored simulation workflows and methodologies using GT-SUITE.
  • Participate in specialist conferences and working groups.

Requirements

  • Masters of Science University degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering, automotive, or related fields.
  • Ideally, 3 years of work experience designing powertrains and/or engines, including measurement and instrumentation, and controls.
  • Technical expertise in Rotating Machinery Design and Analysis and Electrified Powertrains.
  • Experience with 3-D MBD software (e.g., MSC Adams, Simpack, Simcenter 3D, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Flexible Bodies and Finite Element methods and tools (e.g., Abaqus, Altair, Ansys, Nastran) is an advantage.
  • Experience with 1-D System Simulation CAE tools, such as GT-SUITE, Amesim, Dymola, AVL CRUISE M, Simulink, or Modelon Impact is a plus.
  • Programming skills in Matlab, Python, or similar languages are an advantage.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous participation in SAE student competitions (e.g., Formula SAE, Formula Hybrid) or activities in similar societies or consortiums.
