About the position

FUJIFILM Electronic Materials, U.S.A., Inc., is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to join our team at the Mesa, AZ facility. This role is pivotal in the development and implementation of Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) processes, which are essential in the semiconductor manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the formulation optimization of new CMP chemistries and the introduction of these products at customer sites. This position requires a deep understanding of CMP processes and the ability to utilize various metrology tools effectively. The engineer will also conduct product demonstrations for customers, showcasing the capabilities of our CMP products. In this role, the Senior Application Engineer will develop, support, and enhance CMP processes for both new and existing products. Acting as a CMP process expert, the engineer will collaborate closely with R&D chemists to investigate the interactions between different chemistries and abrasive materials with various dielectric and metal films. Fine-tuning the chemistry to achieve desired defect levels and metrology performance is a critical aspect of this position. The engineer will also support the product life cycle, which includes product characterization and functional testing, and will interface with both internal and external technical teams. The role involves running product demonstrations in our applications lab and providing on-site customer support, which may include international travel. The engineer will be expected to design, analyze, and summarize data using statistical software, and collaborate with technical staff on process and formulation needs related to CMP chemistries. A strong foundation in chemistry is essential, as is the ability to work extensively in a lab environment and direct technicians to meet project needs efficiently. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are crucial for success in this role.
