About the position

The Senior Application Engineer will be responsible for customizing medium voltage drive systems to meet customer specifications and requirements. This role involves collaborating with various teams to provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, from design to commissioning, ensuring that the products meet industry standards and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Implement customized production orders under minimum supervision, using product design guides and industry standards.
  • Provide engineering expertise to drafters/designers on customized production orders.
  • Support Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, Field Service, and Quality Assurance during the project cycle.
  • Provide technical support during the startup of new products for field service personnel after factory testing.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales representatives, vendors, program managers, and field service personnel.
  • Create technical content for Customized Product manuals.
  • Attend or lead design reviews to resolve technical and programmatic issues.
  • Support other company functions during the manufacturing process to bring designs to completion.
  • Assist customers and the Customer Service group in maintaining existing designs and resolving field issues.
  • Participate and perform action items as a team member.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience with direct experience in power electronics, VFDs, and electrical machinery.
  • General knowledge of industrial controls, including relay logic.
  • Understanding of variable frequency drives and their applications.
  • Ability to read schematics and interpret customer specifications.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Digital literacy, including Microsoft Office.
  • Proven ability to learn customers' processes and incorporate improvements into design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medium Voltage Experience with motors, drives or switchgear.
  • Familiarity with PLC logic.
  • Knowledge and use of EPLAN drawing software.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Teamcenter.
  • Experience in a high-paced production environment.
