About the position

The Senior Application Engineer will be a key member of a fully remote agile development team, responsible for delivering high-quality custom web applications for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This role combines technical expertise in software engineering with project management responsibilities, requiring both development skills and the ability to lead and mentor team members.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, test, and modify application software.
• Analyze user/business software system requirements and determine needs.
• Assist with the functionality of applications and perform upgrades over time.
• Contribute to documentation supporting software development policies, standards, and procedures.
• Lead and coach team members, taking on increasing management responsibilities over time.
• Work closely with the Technical Lead, Scrum Master, and agile team members to enhance, modernize, and maintain a custom web application.

Requirements

• 10+ years of related experience in software engineering.
• Proficiency in Agile Scrum Development.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Strong skills in API Programming and Complex Systems.
• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree.
