About the position

As a Senior Application Engineer at HCA Healthcare, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, configuration, customization, and support of software related to Human Resources. This position requires you to partner with developers, technicians, analysts, and business process experts on strategic programs, projects, and activities that align with the HR roadmap. You will be responsible for managing multiple development projects independently or as part of a larger team, ensuring that production support is provided for Global HR/ATS/ONB, Lawson HR/Payroll, and ancillary HR systems. Your role will also involve developing positive relationships with business and technology stakeholders, ensuring that repeatable processes are documented and adhere to HCA's design and development standards. In this position, you will provide on-call production support as needed to assist HR Business teams and may require travel to complete project work. You will also coach, mentor, and develop junior team members on HCA software engineering standards. Your responsibilities will include ensuring quality in the definition and development of product software specifications, managing the full life-cycle process from design to development, testing, product release, and maintenance. You will be tasked with developing and utilizing metrics to measure productivity and effective operational processes, as well as creating a personal development plan focused on leadership and technical acumen. Additionally, you will present project-related information to senior management, assist in implementing and refining a successful product development process, and identify key decision points and risks associated with critical decision options. Your technical qualifications will include React programming experience, the ability to translate business requirements into technical designs, and large enterprise ERP deployment experience from design through support. You will also need hands-on experience with system integration, creating approval workflows, and troubleshooting end-user access and data issues in a large corporate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create the design, development, configuration, customization and support of software related to Human Resources.
  • Partner with developers, technicians, analysts, and business process experts on strategic programs, projects, and activities to support the HR roadmap.
  • Manage multiple development projects at a time independently or as part of a larger team.
  • Provide production support for Global HR/ATS/ONB, Lawson HR/Payroll and ancillary HR systems.
  • Ensure repeatable processes are documented and adhere to HCA design and development standards.
  • Provide on-call production support as needed to support the HR Business teams.
  • Coach, mentor and develop junior team members on HCA software engineer standards.
  • Ensure quality in the definition and development of product software specifications utilizing best practices and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Seven or more years relevant work experience.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs.
  • Large enterprise ERP deployment experience from design through support.
  • Hands-on experience with system integration (API design/build, data conversion).
  • Experience creating approval workflows.
  • Experience with configuration console for form changes/functionality.
  • Experience troubleshooting end user access and data issues in large corporate environment.
  • General business process knowledge of HR, Recruiting & Onboarding.
  • Ability to work with non-technical end users to resolve issues through in person, phone, email or web conference.
  • HTML/Javascript experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5-7+ years in Lawson HR/Payroll or comparable ERP.
  • Global HR technical experience in multi-tenant cloud.
  • Landmark & Infor Process Automation experience.
