The Senior Application Engineer plays a crucial role in the technical support and engineering of electronic control solutions tailored to meet customer specifications. This position operates under limited supervision and serves as the primary technical resource for the outside sales team. The engineer collaborates closely with both the sales team and customers to develop and refine system specifications, organize design concepts, and prepare detailed proposals that support the sales process. This role is pivotal in ensuring that customer requirements are accurately understood and conveyed to factory partners, thereby facilitating the design and implementation of effective solutions. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Senior Application Engineer is also tasked with training customers and outside sales teams on product technologies, ensuring that all parties are well-informed and capable of utilizing the products effectively. The engineer provides real-time technical support to the sales team and customers, maintaining a high level of expertise on the technical products offered by factory partners. This includes preparing a comprehensive scope of work for customer solutions and sizing and designing applications that may involve pneumatic systems, motion control, six-axis robots, and vision systems. Furthermore, the Senior Application Engineer may take on a mentorship role, guiding lower-level Application Engineers in their professional development. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the engineering and sales teams.
