About the position

The Senior Application Support Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency, stability, and availability of complex application systems. This role involves incident management, application monitoring, and the use of DevOps practices to deliver high-quality software solutions. The engineer will also mentor less experienced peers and collaborate with various teams to enhance customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with appropriate teams to expedite issue resolution and manage to SLAs.
  • Support and maintain infrastructure and applications utilizing required tools and technologies.
  • Test infrastructure and application changes.
  • Establish priorities for enhancements/modifications.
  • Develop functional specifications for enhancements/modifications.
  • Participate in the application technical design process.
  • Monitor systems and management consoles and tools for service interruptions or delays.
  • Address and resolve all infrastructure system failures.
  • Execute, log and report break/fixes changes, service requests and support activities.
  • Maintain operational procedures, processes and scripts.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Analytical skills and a willingness to ask questions.
  • Ability to work with business users and other technology teams.
  • Experience in incident management processes and tools.
  • Good understanding of Java and application systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile processes and experience as a Scrum master.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to understand strategic business requirements and translate them into technology solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
  • Knowledge of different logging techniques for monitoring and alerting.
  • Experience in mentoring less experienced peers.
