The Senior Application Support Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the performance and reliability of the NGCOBP application across various platforms. This position requires a strong technical background in application support, performance testing, and monitoring. The engineer will be responsible for developing synthetic tests and measurements to assess application performance on different browsers, including Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer. Additionally, the role involves writing custom scripts to facilitate seamless login processes by bypassing multi-factor authentication, which is essential for maintaining user experience and security. The engineer will also be tasked with scheduling performance tests based on business use cases, ensuring that the application meets the required performance standards. Installation and configuration of AppDynamics agents on internally hosted application servers will be a key responsibility, allowing for real-time monitoring of application performance. The engineer will configure business transactions in AppDynamics to track custom transactions specific to NGCOBP, providing insights into application behavior and performance metrics. In addition to performance monitoring, the Senior Application Support Engineer will implement Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions on the Q2 e-banking platform, adhering to the information security requirements set forth by the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB). Collaboration with the vendor Q2 to create a comprehensive WAF project plan will be essential for the successful deployment of security measures. The engineer will identify use cases for synthetic monitoring that cannot be measured using public notes, focusing on specific projects such as IE Lastmile monitoring and digital insight platform monitoring. Application analytics will be performed using Apteligent, which leverages machine learning and statistical inference to detect performance anomalies in HTTP/S transactions supported by Java and .Net application servers. The role also includes measuring and reporting on various performance metrics related to mobile operating systems, mobile app performance, and API performance. Participation in an on-call rotation with other support team members is expected, as well as involvement in bridge calls during major production issues to identify and resolve system problems using multiple triaging tools.
