About the position

The Senior Applications Developer - Lead Systems Integrator at Freeport-McMoRan is responsible for providing application support services to internal clients and business units. This role involves planning, designing, developing, testing, coordinating, implementing, supporting, and enhancing enterprise applications and technical solutions. The developer will work closely with various business units to identify and document business and systems requirements, ensuring that solutions meet user needs and align with organizational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide application support services to internal clients and business units.
  • Plan, design, develop, test, coordinate, implement, support, and enhance enterprise applications and technical solutions.
  • Work with business units to identify and document business/systems requirements and processes.
  • Analyze business and systems needs in terms of functional and technical requirements.
  • Identify and evaluate alternative solutions to defined problems and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of defined systems specifications and develop associated design documentation.
  • Select, configure, integrate, and implement packaged software solutions.
  • Develop, test, implement, and support custom business applications and automated solutions.
  • Evaluate and modify existing programs based on changes in system or business requirements.
  • Identify and document procedures for installation and maintenance of specified business applications.
  • Lead in planning and timing of functional product releases for solutions.
  • Provide technical solutions to complex problems following policies and procedures.
  • Perform project management duties with minimal supervision.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with external development partners.
  • Lead in the adoption of global standards and methodologies for software development.
  • Act as a positive coach/mentor for less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or closely related field.
  • Five (5) years progressive experience in application's development, integration or support.
  • Extensive knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Comprehensive experience in technical organizations supporting mission critical business applications.
  • Proficient in resolving issues and managing scope using change management processes.
  • Expert in IT design and development skills.
  • Expert in IT post-implementation support, requirements analysis, solution implementation, and testing.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Visual Studio, Database Management Systems, and Version Control Systems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain project deliverables using project management tools and Agile practices.
  • Skilled in following software security practices and resolving software vulnerabilities.
