About the position

The Senior Applications Developer position is a critical role within the Health and Human Services IT Delivery Center, responsible for providing advanced technical support and leadership in application development. This position involves overseeing contracted software developers and ensuring compliance with various policies and standards while delivering essential IT services to multiple departments within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of contracted software developers in supporting laboratory-specific technical processes and solutions.
• Monitor, evaluate, and review system performance in accordance with CDC, Commonwealth, and HHSDC policies.
• Provide technical-lead application support for mission-critical applications such as PA-LIMS and LabCert.
• Support additional applications including EUS, MPG, PA-NEDSS, and ELR.
• Ensure adherence to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.

Requirements

• One year as an Applications Developer 2 or Computer Programmer 4; or
• Three years of IT experience in applications development or maintenance with an associate's degree; or
• Five years of IT experience including three years in applications development or maintenance; or
• One year of IT experience in applications development or maintenance with a bachelor's degree; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Three or more years of full-time experience with C#.NET, T-SQL, SQL Server, and SSRS.
