About the position

The Senior Applications Developer position at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania involves leading a team of contracted software developers to support laboratory-specific technical processes and solutions within the Health and Human Services IT Delivery Center. This role requires advanced technical expertise in various programming languages and tools, and it plays a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing mission-critical applications for the Department of Health and other related departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of contracted software developers in supporting laboratory-specific technical processes and solutions.
• Monitor, evaluate, and review system performance in accordance with CDC, Commonwealth, and HHSDC policies and standards.
• Provide technical-lead application support for mission-critical applications such as PA-LIMS and LabCert.
• Support and maintain applications like EUS, MPG, PA-NEDSS, and ELR.
• Develop and customize application systems to meet user needs and business requirements.
• Perform regression testing and monitor application performance for optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, providing technical assistance to users and IT professionals.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year as an Applications Developer 2 or Computer Programmer 4, or three years of IT experience in applications development with an associate's degree, or five years of IT experience including three years in applications development, or one year of IT experience in applications development with a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Three or more years of full-time experience with C#.NET, T-SQL, SQL Server, and SSRS.
