About the position

As a Senior Applications Development Engineer (CMP) at 3M, you will leverage your engineering expertise to drive new product evaluations and develop customer-specific applications in the semiconductor industry. This role emphasizes collaboration with sales teams and customers to enhance Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) processes, ensuring the successful launch of new products and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Drive new product evaluations at semiconductor customers to win business through data-driven interactions.
• Develop customer-specific applications and data packages demonstrating 3M product performance.
• Coordinate the generation of data packages and technical presentations for semiconductor customers.
• Partner with the sales team to develop CMP processes for customer device manufacturing.
• Lead technical interactions to discover semiconductor customers' requirements in performance and timing.
• Understand the market and bring the voice of the customer to 3M's technology and marketing organizations.
• Establish strong relationships with customers and throughout the semiconductor industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• One year of experience in gathering material process data, computer-aided design, product information, or material property information.
• Two years of combined engineering and/or academic research experience in semiconductor fabrication and/or electronic devices.

Nice-to-haves

• Three years' hands-on experience running CMP processes at a semiconductor manufacturing facility or as a consumables or tool supplier in CMP area.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
