About the position

The Senior Applications Engineer for Power Modules at Analog Devices, Inc. is responsible for supporting the development and optimization of power solutions across various applications. This role involves collaborating with design teams, conducting advanced technology research, and providing technical support to customers and field teams. The engineer will leverage their expertise in power electronics to drive innovation and ensure the performance of new power products.

Responsibilities

  • Support new product definitions and advanced technology research and development.
  • Perform system level simulation and analysis of new designs.
  • Interface with IC and module designers to define, develop, and validate features and functions of power products.
  • Design, simulate, and implement high-performance power solutions for applications such as data centers, telecom, and automotive.
  • Develop demo/eval boards for new power products and solutions, including schematic design and prototype evaluation.
  • Understand and optimize electrical, thermal, and mechanical performances and reliability of solutions.
  • Develop design and simulation tools and circuits using LTspice and Simplis.
  • Support field teams and customers by promoting products and providing technical assistance.
  • Provide technical training, writing, and presentations.

Requirements

  • MSEE or Ph.D. degree in Power Electronics.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in switching power converter designs and optimizations.
  • Strong background in analog circuit, power electronics, and power systems.
  • Experience with DC/DC power converter design and optimization.
  • Familiarity with circuit design/simulation tools such as SPICE/LTspice, Simplis, and LTpowerCAD.
  • Good technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Firmware, DPS or FPGA programming experience.
  • Analog IC design knowledge.
  • Magnetic design and simulation knowledge.
  • Thermal analysis knowledge and experience.
