About the position

The Senior Applications Engineer at Micron Technology will serve as the technical lead for customers and field teams, focusing on nurturing customer relationships and providing technical support for DRAM technology across various market segments. This role involves developing design documentation, conducting customer training, and presenting at technical conferences, while also acting as the primary contact for technical inquiries related to device specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal design documentation for products in collaboration with Design Engineering.
• Develop and validate new product capabilities and customer-specific requirements.
• Define customer requirements for related products in conjunction with marketing.
• Maintain customer data sheets and technical DRAM product notes.
• Create internal white papers addressing technical issues affecting other departments.
• Support marketing communications with updates on technical collateral generation.
• Develop and deliver training to customers and internal teams.
• Present at technical conferences on new and future product ideas.
• Coordinate and drive technical content for customer Quarterly Technical Reviews (QTRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
• Review customer designs and analyze technical and logistical issues, acting as a liaison between customers and internal resources.
• Support new product bring-up issues and the Product Change Notice (PCN) process.
• Evaluate and represent Micron's position for legal matters related to technical evaluations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all technical questions from customers regarding device functionality and usage.
• Review customer designs prior to hardware implementation, including schematics and thermal analysis.
• Partner with customers to enable die shrinks with existing products.
• Work with customers and engineering teams to define new product requirements.

Requirements

• BSEE/BSCE or equivalent degree with 5+ years of DRAM experience (Design, Product, or Testing Engineering background).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong presentation skills to convey complex technical concepts succinctly.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues and external customers.
• Ability to understand and debug technical problems.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Micron's testing philosophy and documentation.
• Experience developing/maintaining documents in Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, and .dita XML.
• Experience with Verilog, HSPICE, thermal modeling, and PDN analysis.
• Experience in schematic review and PCB layout, with an understanding of non-memory DIMM active components.
