About the position

The Senior Applications Systems Engineer position at Harvard University Information Technology (HUIT) is responsible for supporting the deployment of IBM's Maximo enterprise asset management product. This role involves operational support, project delivery, and collaboration with various business units to enhance the Maximo platform's functionality. The engineer will provide end-user support, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in business analysis and project planning, ensuring a high level of service and continuous improvement in processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary end-user support for the Maximo platform.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues and requests in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the team's knowledge repositories for operational support.
  • Provide rotating 24/7 on-call support to meet customer service levels.
  • Collaborate to continuously improve processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Support incremental functionality development for the Maximo platform.
  • Participate in business analysis and requirements identification sessions.
  • Support testing activities, including regression testing, for new functionality.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
  • Service Now trouble ticket management experience.
  • SQL database querying experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with IT and business partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with BIRT (Business and Intelligence Reporting Tools).
  • Prior experience with Maximo.
