About the position

The Senior Applied AI Engineer will play a pivotal role in the Applied Research arm of Microsoft Security AI Research, focusing on developing innovative AI-driven solutions to enhance security across Microsoft's platforms. This position involves collaborating with top researchers and product teams to create advanced AI services, automate security processes, and ensure high-quality data for security applications. The role emphasizes a culture of growth, collaboration, and customer obsession, aiming to reshape security through cutting-edge research and technology.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with applied research and product teams to develop advanced AI services and automation tools aimed at reducing security risks.
• Develop and implement AI-driven ETL processes, focusing on data enrichment, schema normalization, and transformation for security applications.
• Participate in the development of the AI experimentation and observation platform to improve AI models and user experiences through feedback loops.
• Work closely with senior technical staff from Copilot for Security and other Microsoft Security products to integrate and enhance security solutions.
• Develop comprehensive technical designs and architectures to transition research innovations into practical, shipping products.
• Foster leadership and collaboration across research and product teams, breaking down silos and driving collective success.

Requirements

• Proven experience in AI development and automation, particularly in security contexts.
• Strong knowledge of ETL processes and data enrichment techniques.
• Experience with AI experimentation and observation methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior technical staff.
• Proficiency in developing technical designs and architectures for AI-centric solutions.
