About the position

As an Applied Scientist at AWS Field Experiences (AFX), you will be instrumental in developing AI-driven software tools that enhance sales workflows and empower field teams. This role involves leveraging your expertise in large language models and deep learning to create innovative solutions that have a significant business impact. You will collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to design, develop, and integrate generative AI and traditional machine learning models into live software products.

Responsibilities

  • Devise novel ways to build and use AI inside applications.
  • Invent algorithms for processing big structured and unstructured data sets and extract deep insights from them.
  • Lead and mentor other scientists.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver intelligent, feature-rich software.
  • Build your models and innovative solutions into intelligent products that deliver for our customers.

Requirements

  • PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience.
  • 3+ years of building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application experience.
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to all levels of the organization.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of industry or academic research experience.
  • Experience or project work building applications with LLMs and related tools and frameworks (Amazon Bedrock or OpenAI API, Langchain, AutoGen, CrewAI, etc.)
