About the position

The Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon's FinTech organization will lead the development of innovative Generative AI applications aimed at transforming the financial services industry. This role involves leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and multi-agent architectures to create impactful solutions in areas such as fraud prevention, financial forecasting, and insurance. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify high-impact use cases, design and evaluate AI models, and ensure their successful deployment in production systems. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior scientists and contributing to the research community through publications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of Generative AI applications for financial services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and deliver high-impact use cases.
• Design, develop, and evaluate Generative AI models and agents.
• Partner with engineering teams for model deployment and integration into production systems.
• Mentor and develop junior scientists and engineers.
• Contribute to the research community by publishing work in peer-reviewed conferences and journals.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
• 5+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy.
• Track record of publications in top-tier machine learning conferences or journals.
