As a Senior Applied Scientist/Tech Lead focusing on Large Language Models within the TikTok Privacy team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing privacy and security worldwide. This position involves tackling unprecedented compliance challenges and driving privacy initiatives across big data realms. Your primary objective will be to safeguard user data, which is the cornerstone of privacy. You will have the opportunity to refine the privacy-aware data understanding and perception framework, utilizing advanced privacy technology and AI techniques to ensure user privacy across TikTok's products and platforms. In this role, you will lead a team to develop large language models, focusing on intelligent interactions, text generation, and the enhancement of core NLP/ML algorithm models. You will investigate cutting-edge technologies related to large language models and apply them to privacy-centric scenarios. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential as you implement relevant applications within the domain of privacy, addressing business challenges at multiple stakeholder levels. Responsibilities

• Lead a team to develop large language models, focusing on intelligent interactions and text generation.
• Investigate cutting-edge technologies related to large language models and apply them to privacy-centric scenarios.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement relevant applications within the domain of privacy, including content generation, reasoning, and code generation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with at least 5-7 years of professional experience in related fields.
• Solid foundation in NLP/ML-related algorithms with practical experience in natural language processing and machine learning.
• Familiarity with large-scale model training and reinforcement learning algorithms is preferred.
• Demonstrated hands-on abilities with proficiency in at least one framework such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Exceptional coding skills in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or C++, with a solid foundation in algorithms and data structures.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills and practical experience in relevant business scenarios.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with published papers in major conferences or influential open source projects.
• Familiarity with multi-modality modeling and knowledge graph/graph modeling.
