About the position

The Senior AR Analyst, Collections at Fanatics is responsible for managing a B2B collection portfolio, ensuring timely payments from clients while minimizing risk and bad debt exposure. This role involves direct communication with customers, problem-solving, and collaboration with internal teams to enhance the collection process. The position requires a proactive approach to managing accounts and resolving payment issues, contributing to the overall efficiency of the Accounts Receivable department.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a portfolio of business-to-business customers, including Fortune 500 companies and professional sports teams.
  • Conduct collection calls via telephone, email, and customer portals to secure payments and resolve issues.
  • Provide invoice copies, reconcile accounts, and perform general accounting duties to obtain payments.
  • Establish payment plans with external customers to resolve aged outstanding items.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, and Management to accelerate the collection process.
  • Negotiate customer disputes to resolution and document root causes of payment issues.
  • Prioritize and monitor customer accounts to understand reasons for non-payment and steps to resolution.
  • Weekly reconciliation of accounts and monitoring payment behaviors to identify risks of default.
  • Investigate and clear customer chargebacks/deductions and offsets, including GL coding for accounting.
  • Maintain clear documentation of all communication with customers and internal departments.
  • Participate in mentoring AR Collections Analysts and handle complex customer issues.
  • Accountable for reducing delinquency in assigned portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of AR experience preferred or 4 years of high-volume AR experience with a high school diploma.
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables.
  • Clear and effective professional communication skills with all levels of management.
  • Strong ability to analyze information and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in a hybrid work environment.
  • Familiarity with the sports industry or related fields.
