About the position

Kforce has a client in Alexandria, VA that is seeking a Senior AR Analyst responsible for managing and optimizing the accounts receivable process to ensure accurate, timely collection of outstanding invoices and resolution of any related issues. This role involves in-depth analysis of AR data, preparation of regular reports, and collaboration with internal teams to improve AR processes and support overall financial health. The Senior AR Analyst also provides guidance to junior team members and plays a key role in process improvements and strategic initiatives within the finance department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of AR accounts
  • Prepare detailed AR reports for senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements by providing accurate AR data and analysis
  • Identify and implement improvements to AR processes to enhance efficiency and reduce errors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline billing and collection procedures
  • Utilize AR analytics to drive process enhancements and support business goals
  • Serve as a point of contact for escalated AR issues, working directly with customers to resolve disputes and ensure payment
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers to facilitate timely payment and address any billing concerns
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of AR activities, including payment histories, correspondence, and reconciliations
  • Mentor and guide junior AR team members, providing training and support as needed
  • Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives related to AR, including system implementations or upgrades

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • A CPA or equivalent certification is preferred
  • 5-7+ years of experience in accounts receivable, finance, or accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or analytical role
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on financial data
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives is a plus
