About the position

The Senior Architect Advisor at Cigna is a pivotal role within the Technology organization, focusing on the delivery of innovative solutions to complex problems. This position involves collaborating with business and technical experts to implement performance tuning and best practices, ensuring high reusability across Cigna globally. The role encompasses managing the entire source code and database build/deploy processes, automating deployment across various environments, and facilitating the creation of security review documents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud engineering, particularly with AWS, and will be responsible for end-to-end delivery from requirement understanding to production deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the entire Source Code and Database Build/Deploy processes for Clinical Core Systems.
  • Manage and maintain over 100 development and testing environments.
  • Automate and support the build and deployment processes from Development to Production.
  • Coordinate the building of new environments across multiple technical groups within Cigna.
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of Security review documents.
  • Collaborate with application developers, architects, business, and quality analysts to understand deployment and environment needs.
  • Mature the DevOps processes including Build and Deploy, Incident and Problem Management, and Test Environment Management.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships across different support areas within Cigna.
  • Oversee the build and deploy process for both On-Prem and Cloud applications.

Requirements

  • Experience with containerized solutions such as Openshift, EKS, and ECS.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud.
  • Experience working in a Build/Release capacity within a Java App environment on RHEL & Windows OS.
  • Extensive experience with Linux and Red Hat servers (installing, configuring, and customizing).
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn tools and processes.
  • Good communication skills to articulate and work with various teams.
  • Excellent planning, consulting skills, analytical ability, and logical thinking.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to work in a high-performing team.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS cloud experience with core services like S3, SQS, SNS, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Step Functions, ECS, EKS, Secrets Manager, Systems Manager, EC2, IAM, VPC, ROUTE 53, KMS, API GATEWAY.
  • Core code production for AWS Infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Experience deploying and developing AWS cloud applications and services end to end.
  • Senior level knowledge of Openshift, Docker Containers, GIT, Jenkins, Artifactory, uDeploy, Sonar, Confluence, JIRA.
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages: Shell, Python, and/or Perl.
  • Knowledge of automation concepts, Ansible, PowerShell.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins, Cloudbees, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of SCM best practices.
