About the position

The Senior Architect will play a crucial role in driving architectural projects from concept through construction, utilizing their design expertise and technical skills. This position requires a strong focus on design development, construction documentation, and administration, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet client specifications. The architect will also mentor junior staff and lead project meetings, fostering effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all project phases, focusing on design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Provide design and documentation for a variety of project types.
  • Lead periodic project meetings and presentations.
  • Ensure clients are kept aware of project progress.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the client's requirements, standards, and completion policies.
  • Assist in the design development, modification, and/or review of project concepts and solutions.
  • Assist in establishing overall project budgets and milestone schedules.
  • Communicate planning concepts to project teams.
  • Ensure all work meets client requirements and specifications.
  • Deliver high-quality and timely products to clients.
  • Anticipate and develop innovative solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
  • Mentor junior team members where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited college or university; master's degree is a plus.
  • US Architectural license (RA) or tracking towards licensure.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in an architectural practice; ten (10+) years is a plus.
  • Portfolio of work experience within commercial, healthcare, medical, academic & higher education, hotels, restaurants, theaters, museums, or corporate offices practice areas.
  • Revit documentation proficiency.
  • Experience in programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and other 3D visualization tools.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required.
  • Strong people skills and ability to effectively interact and communicate with clients, colleagues, and other project personnel.
  • Interest in sustainability and high-performance buildings.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of building codes, standards, and accessibility requirements.
  • Experience in construction administration.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mentality.
