Guidewire is searching for an experienced technical architect who is eager to transform the insurance industry from the inside out. In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse group of engineers, data scientists, and risk modelers to evolve a platform and application suite that integrates data and machine learning. This innovative approach aims to address a wide range of use cases, including automated underwriting, pricing, directed claims handling, and tackling cyber threats, which are currently recognized as the number one threat to U.S. national security, surpassing even nuclear weapons. As a Senior Architect in Data Analytics and AI-ML, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing a scalable Cloud-native data analytics platform and solutions. You will take ownership of the architecture and provide technical leadership to multiple teams, mentoring junior engineers on best practices and standards. Your role will involve hands-on coding for more than 30% of your time, ensuring that you remain engaged with the technical aspects of the projects. You will assess, benchmark, and select data analytics technologies, while also enforcing well-architected principles such as operational efficiency, scalability, availability, performance, cost, and data security. Identifying areas of architectural risk and collaborating with other engineering teams to address these risks will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will work closely with stakeholders, including product managers, data scientists, and insurance domain experts, to define requirements and design solutions that meet the needs of various constituencies. Your ability to drive consensus among diverse groups will be essential. Furthermore, you will represent our technical strategy and architecture to prospective customers during sales visits, typically engaging with CIOs and Heads of IT. This role is not just about technical expertise; it also requires excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
