About the position

The position involves managing and supervising a team of design professionals and other staff to develop sustainability projects and programs. Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise a team of design professionals and other staff.
  • Oversee the development of presentations and grant application materials related to sustainability and energy efficiency.
  • Plan and implement special events to promote the district's sustainability goals.
  • Organize and participate in sustainability awareness campaigns.
  • Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies, service providers, and community organizations to identify funding and develop sustainability initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external sustainability-focused organizations and partners.
  • Prepare applications for prospective grant funding opportunities with other departments.
  • Manage and update the Sustainability Initiatives Unit website.
  • Assist in coordination and outreach for sustainability-related educational programs.
  • Create and present information as needed.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of full-time paid professional experience managing sustainability projects or programs.
  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Architecture, or Marketing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional experience in facilities design and architecture.
