About the position

The Senior Architect for Salesforce at Travelers Insurance is a pivotal role within the Enterprise Architecture organization, responsible for collaborating with senior technology and business leaders to innovate and influence solutions that enhance business capabilities. This position focuses on developing architecture priorities, advocating for modern architecture principles, and driving continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt. The role also involves mentoring other architects and ensuring alignment of IT initiatives with the organization's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide architecture responsibility within a major segment of Technology Architecture in support of Sales and Service business capabilities.
  • Work with senior leadership to develop architecture priorities and direction to enable business imperatives.
  • Advocate for modern architecture principles and technology modernization.
  • Establish strategic technology direction and architecture vision for the organization.
  • Drive continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt.
  • Analyze key industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Define and lead technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions.
  • Engage in hands-on prototyping of new technology solutions.
  • Partner with Software Engineering to execute proof of technologies.
  • Define target state technology architecture and roadmaps.
  • Ensure alignment of IT initiatives with the target state.
  • Build strong partnerships with engineering to ensure proper alignment of skills with technology direction.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive communications to convey architectural direction and alignment with enterprise strategy.
  • Continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of the architecture.
  • Provide mentorship to architects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of technology architecture experience, specifically in Salesforce Architecture including Sales, Service, CRM, and Marketing Clouds.
  • Salesforce product certifications, including architecture certifications, are highly beneficial.
  • Proven experience in Salesforce platform, LWC, Apex, Integrations, Automation features, Sales, Service, and Financial Service cloud.
  • Experience assessing and monitoring production platform health, recommending improvements, and addressing technical debt.
  • Strong experience with integration patterns, data, and data mastery.
  • Experience leveraging and integrating Center Technologies for Service Cloud including Genesys.
  • Experience with multi-division complex sales and service landscapes and implementations.
  • Experience with omni/multi-channel implementations including voice, chat, email, and chat bots in Salesforce.
  • Experience leveraging latest technologies including AI to improve sales and service experiences and efficiencies.
  • Organizational and transformational experience in an agile operating model.
  • Strong proven Software Engineering experience.
  • Experience developing technology target state and roadmaps aligned to business goals.
  • Proven track record of influencing senior leadership.
  • Insurance technology experience.
  • Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models.
  • Experience with large-scale technology platforms and cloud data technologies.
  • Experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, and DevSecOps.
  • Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong cloud architecture experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technology modernization, including cloud-native migration and API strategy.
  • Hands-on experience within the last 3 years.
  • Good understanding of security.
