About the position

The Senior Architectural Designer at JG Neukomm Architecture is a full-time role focused on high-end residential renovations, particularly in restoring historic Upper East Side co-op apartments. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of professional experience and involves collaboration with senior staff throughout all project phases, from design to construction administration. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional design talent and thrive in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the principal and senior staff on all project phases, from schematic design through construction administration.
• Engage in design studies, digital modeling, product and material research.
• Produce construction documents, including details and material specifications.
• Coordinate with engineering and specialty consultants to integrate their work.
• Understand building codes, space and site considerations, and client requirements to determine their impact on architectural designs.

Requirements

• Master's degree in architecture.
• Minimum of 10 years of post-graduate, professional experience.
• Extensive experience in high-end residential renovations in New York City.
• Exceptional design talent and strong organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Well-developed strategic and critical thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, and Enscape.
