About the position

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architectural Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal as we expand our portfolio of projects, and we are looking for someone with extensive experience in architecture, particularly with Revit. As a Senior Architectural Designer, you will be responsible for transforming data, specifications, and rough sketches into detailed working drawings and Revit models. Under the general direction of a licensed Architect, you will engage in a variety of architectural assignments that require a solid understanding of architectural practices and techniques. This position is designed for individuals who can handle moderately complex project assignments with minimal supervision, while also having the opportunity to tackle more complex tasks typically reserved for higher-level positions. In this role, you will lead small teams and produce CAD (Revit) drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards for various architectural tasks. You will ensure compliance with required codes and standards by utilizing technical manuals and coordinating with engineering and construction teams during the design phase and occasionally at project sites. Your responsibilities will also include preparing and issuing detailed design and construction drawings and specifications, conducting architectural studies, developing design concepts, and providing technical guidance to junior Architectural Designers and Drafters. Responsibilities

  • Lead small teams in producing CAD (Revit) drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards.
  • Utilize technical manuals to ensure compliance with required codes and standards.
  • Coordinate work with engineering and construction teams during design and at project sites.
  • Prepare and issue detailed design and construction drawings and specifications as approved.
  • Conduct architectural studies, develop design concepts and criteria, and prepare reports for review by a licensed Architect.
  • Provide technical guidance to lower-level Architectural Designers/Drafters working on the same project.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant US experience in architecture.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in architecture or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proficiency in CAD (Revit) and other PC software packages associated with architecture.
  • Proficiency in the production of Construction Documents set for permitting.
  • Open to US Citizens.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated proficiency in sketching, rendering, Revit model building, and presentation drawing.
  • Completion of NCARB Intern Development Program.
  • Enrollment and completion of related course in licensure track.
  • Previous experience leading small teams.
  • Licensed Architect or working toward the license.
