About the position

The Senior Architectural Designer at EXP is responsible for leading the design and development of construction documents for various projects within the Aviation, Transit, and Commercial Buildings team. This role involves collaboration with a multi-discipline project team, coordination with subconsultants, and direct interaction with clients and vendors to ensure project compliance and quality. The designer will also be involved in creating design alternatives and presentation documents, showcasing their work to clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction documents in coordination with a multi-discipline project team of architects and engineers.
• Coordinate project requirements and development of construction documents with subconsultants.
• Meet with product vendors to review specific products to be incorporated into the projects.
• Perform code reviews and meet independently with local code officials to review and determine specific local code requirements and project compliance.
• Perform bid phase and construction phase tasks including site visits, review of shop drawings, responding to requests for information, and issuing clarifications.
• Lead the development of design alternatives using a variety of media, including computer visualization and physical models.
• Work in coordination with and oversight of the Principal Architect.
• Lead the development of presentation documents and make design presentations to clients.

Requirements

• Degree in architecture required from an Accredited University.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated ability to use computer software for design.
• Detailed knowledge of all phases of architectural and engineering practice.
• Proficient in the production of contract documents including Technical Specifications.
• Proficient in production with Revit and AutoCad.
• Experience with Sketchup, Photoshop, 3D Studio, Rhino, V-Ray, and other imaging and rendering software.
