The Senior Area Administrator at Caton Hill Medical Center plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation of healthcare services. The Senior Area Administrator works closely with the Vice President of Ambulatory Care & Clinical Services to provide strategic leadership, ensuring that resources are distributed equitably and that high-quality, cost-effective healthcare is delivered. This role is pivotal in overseeing the operating results and strategic direction of the assigned areas, contributing to the overall development of programs and services that meet the needs of members, physicians, and staff. In this capacity, the Senior Area Administrator is responsible for daily operations, which includes the development, implementation, and monitoring of services, quality, and utilization standards. The administrator continually evaluates and improves service delivery by promoting best practice models and engaging staff in problem-solving initiatives. Additionally, the role involves planning, directing, staffing, and evaluating the services provided by the team, as well as managing budgets and expenditures for the assigned service areas. The administrator also plays a key role in talent acquisition, employee training and development, and performance assessments, ensuring that the staff is well-equipped to meet the organization's goals. The Senior Area Administrator is expected to contribute to effective communication and planning through evidence-based findings and participation in special committees or projects. This position also requires monitoring compliance with administrative, legal, and regulatory requirements, working with management and physician partners to establish cost-effective programs, and participating in community relations activities to enhance the organization's reputation. Overall, this role is integral to the success of the healthcare operations at Caton Hill Medical Center, ensuring that the organization meets its strategic objectives while providing excellent care to its members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist VP, Ambulatory Care & Clinical Services in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling operations.
  • Contribute to the development of programs and services for members, physicians, and staff.
  • Ensure equitable distribution of resources and delivery of high-quality, cost-effective healthcare.
  • Facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of services, quality, and utilization standards.
  • Evaluate and improve service delivery by promoting best practice models and engaging staff in problem-solving.
  • Plan, direct, staff, organize, and evaluate services and care delivered by staff.
  • Develop, monitor, and control payroll, non-payroll, and capital budgets for assigned service areas.
  • Manage talent acquisition, employee training, performance assessments, and disciplinary actions.
  • Establish and maintain operational and performance standards with subordinate managers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the overall system of service delivery to meet established targets.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with management and physician partners to identify cost-effective programs and practices.
  • Participate in community relations activities to enhance the organization's image.

Requirements

  • Minimum seven (7) years relevant experience in healthcare operations leadership in either an acute care or complex ambulatory setting.
  • Minimum five (5) years of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, business administration, health care administration or related field required.
  • Ability to build relationships through responsive, respectful communications and positive collaborations across departments.
  • Ability to be a change agent and assist in behavioral transformation of staff.
  • Proven skills in leading innovation and organizational transformation.
  • Experience in advancing professional practice through implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Significant knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations related to health care.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in nursing, business, health care administration or related field preferred.
