About the position

The Senior Art Director (Omni-Channel) at Bloomingdale's plays a pivotal role in managing and delivering effective, on-brand, and on-strategy creative for bloomingdales.com and omni-channel seasonal creative. This position focuses on key categories such as Fine Jewelry, Beauty, Designer Accessories, and Gifting. The ideal candidate will be a print and digital expert, adept at managing multiple projects while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners across both digital and print platforms. The role requires a highly creative and resourceful individual with expert design and typography skills, as well as strong prioritization and problem-solving abilities. In this role, the Senior Art Director will be responsible for omni-channel photo art direction and design, ensuring that all creative outputs align with the brand's vision and strategy. The candidate will manage project workflows by conceptualizing thoughtful ideas based on briefs, developing compelling layouts and designs, and overseeing production to ensure timely delivery of all assigned projects. Presenting the thought process and project approach to stakeholders confidently is essential, as is the ability to develop and maintain a brand style guide using templates and best practices. Collaboration is key in this position, as the Senior Art Director will partner with internal and external teams to understand business objectives and create compelling, solution-based creative that drives brand strategy. The candidate must also be able to balance creative ideas with business needs, research trends and innovations in the competitive landscape, and continuously enhance the visual look, tone, and feel of all work produced.

Responsibilities

  • Omni-channel photo art direction and design for Fine Jewelry, Beauty, Designer Accessories, and Gifting categories.
  • Manage project workflow by conceptualizing thoughtful ideas, developing compelling layouts and designs, and overseeing production to deliver creative on time for all assigned projects.
  • Present thought process and project approach confidently to necessary stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain brand style guide using templates and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to understand business objectives and create compelling solution-based creative that drives brand strategy.
  • Research trends and innovations in the competitive landscape to enhance the visual look, tone, and feel of all work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in art direction and design.
  • Experience creating concepts/art direction/design for Fine Jewelry, Beauty, Fashion Accessories, and Gifting creative.
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
  • Expert design skills with advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs, particularly Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and XD.

Nice-to-haves

  • Video and packaging experience.
  • Knowledge of Premiere, AfterEffects, UX, and UI.
  • Extensive working knowledge of current trends and language of the high-end fashion world.
