About the position

NVIDIA is seeking a skilled ASIC engineer to join the Clocks team, which is responsible for designing and implementing clocking solutions for GPUs and CPUs. This role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure that clocking requirements are met and to address silicon bugs in new products. The engineer will engage in high-frequency clock design, improve productivity through scripting, and propose enhancements to current designs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects, ASIC designers, and verification engineers to design high-frequency clocks.
  • Engage with multiple teams to ensure clock designs meet architectural constraints.
  • Deliver clock information to GPU, CPU, and SOC verification teams, as well as timing and DFT teams.
  • Use Perl to enhance productivity across teams.
  • Work with software and product design teams to debug GPU or CPU clock silicon bugs.
  • Understand and design clocking structures to address sub-micron design challenges.
  • Identify and propose improvements to current clocking designs.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (MS preferred).
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in RTL design (Verilog), verification, and logic synthesis.
  • Strong coding skills in Perl or other industry-standard scripting languages.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamically changing environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of sub-micron silicon issues like noise, cross-talk, and OCV effects.
  • Experience implementing on-chip clocking networks.
