About the position

The Senior Assistant Art Director - Digital and Video is responsible for the creative direction and execution of graphic elements for digital and video projects, including online campaigns, social media content, and brand videos. This role requires a passion for storytelling through digital platforms and a strong design skill set to produce high-impact visual content. The position involves collaboration with various business units and areas of Philanthropy Marketing and Communications to deliver high-quality marketing materials, while embodying Dana-Farber's core values of impact, excellence, compassion, respect, discovery, and equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the development of graphic elements for digital creative strategies in collaboration with Account Managers and Business Unit contacts.
  • Set the visual direction for digital-first projects in collaboration with the Creative Director and senior team members.
  • Develop and present innovative and engaging creative concepts tailored for digital platforms.
  • Work closely with video producers, editors, and animators to ensure video content meets creative standards and brand guidelines.
  • Oversee the design and development of digital content, including websites, online ads, social media graphics, and email campaigns.
  • Ensure all digital assets are optimized for various platforms and devices, maintaining visual consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Oversee the design process from concept to final execution, ensuring consistency, clarity, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to enhance user experience and accessibility of visual elements.
  • Research digital trends, new technologies, and industry best practices to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and teamwork across departments.
  • Engage directly with Business Units to understand their vision and incorporate feedback into the final product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Multimedia Design, Fine Arts, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a creative role, with a strong portfolio showcasing impactful multimedia design projects.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, UX/UI principles, and video production workflows.
  • Excellent storytelling skills with a deep understanding of visual narrative techniques.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts effectively.
  • Experience in a digital agency or production company environment.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics, animation, and 3D design.
  • Familiarity with video editing software and post-production processes.
  • Experience with live-action and animated video content creation.
