About the position

The Senior Assistant Registrar at the University of Georgia is responsible for overseeing and managing various academic processes, including the Study Abroad and Field Student Academic Review Process, the Experiential Learning Proposal and Approval Process, and the Online Curriculum Revisions Tool and Approval Process (PARC). This role involves supervising a team, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with university policies. The position requires a high level of judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of the Experiential Learning submission and approval process.
  • Facilitate the proposal process for curriculum and non-credit activities in the workflow system.
  • Coordinate with the Experiential Learning office and Curriculum Faculty Governance team concerning proposal submission.
  • Oversee and review proposals for accuracy and compliance with UGA, USG, and SACSCOC policies and procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support assistance to faculty and staff using the workflow system.
  • Supervise and guide staff who assist with the Experiential Learning process.
  • Manage the University Approval Process for University-Wide Requirements and Institutional Competencies.
  • Review and edit proposals for accuracy and compliance with UGA, USG, and SACSCOC policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to faculty and staff using the workflow system, including training and managing access.
  • Supervise and guide staff who assist with the University Approval Process.
  • Facilitate the approval process of curriculum changes in the PARC system.
  • Maintain updated access and provide training to the PARC system.
  • Administer curriculum/Bulletin revisions as they are submitted and assist work units with questions.
  • Supervise and guide staff who assist with the PARC system.
  • Disseminate information and communicate with faculty, staff, and deans regarding the Study Abroad and Field Study processes.
  • Ensure compliance of proposed study abroad and field study programs with university policies.
  • Oversee and support the facilitation of the Study Away Subcommittee.
  • Serve on various committees related to study abroad and field study programs.
  • Manage the field study and study abroad approval systems and websites as necessary.
  • Provide support for university-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct edits/proofreading of Bulletin changes and Registrar's Office materials.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in a relevant field.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with university policies and procedures related to academic programs.
  • High-level problem-solving skills and ability to analyze processes for improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong supervisory skills and experience managing a team.
  • High-level experience with office practices and procedures.
  • Organizational skills and discretion with confidential information.
  • High attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple projects.
  • Advanced skills in time management, database management, and office software.
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
