About the position

As a Sr. Associate Application Engineer (Service Now), you will play a crucial role in our engineering team, focusing on analyzing, designing, programming, testing, and deploying new user stories and features. Your work will directly contribute to the implementation of products from concept to production, ensuring that we deliver high-quality solutions that meet our customers' needs. You will utilize Discover's Agile Way of Working, actively participating in Agile ceremonies to ensure that our projects are completed efficiently and effectively. In this position, you will work closely with the engineering team and the Product Owner to develop and configure solutions within the ServiceNow platform. You will have the opportunity to propose innovative solutions to business problems and inefficiencies, leveraging your expertise in ServiceNow capabilities. Your responsibilities will also include participating in various team activities, such as the ServiceNow Engineering Chapter and Continuous Professional Education, to enhance your skills and knowledge. Additionally, you will assist with incident management and consumer service support, ensuring that we maintain high standards of security, reliability, and operational excellence. Your contributions will help the team achieve its commitments, and you will have the chance to influence others to do the same. As part of your role, you will also be responsible for remediating issues using engineering principles and escalating any risks or customer-impacting issues to management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with analyzing, designing, programming, testing, and deploying new user stories and features.
  • Utilize Discover's Agile Way of Working and participate in Agile ceremonies.
  • Develop and configure solutions within ServiceNow in partnership with the engineering team and Product Owner.
  • Propose opportunities to solve business problems and inefficiencies using knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Participate in team activities including ServiceNow Engineering Chapter and Continuous Professional Education.
  • Assist with incident management and consumer service support schedule.
  • Ensure high quality in programming, testing, and deploying new user stories and features.
  • Remediate issues using engineering principles and escalate risks to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  • Technical proficiency rating of competent on Dreyfus engineering scale for internal applicants.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience implementing two or more ServiceNow capabilities such as ITSM, Performance Analytics, or Security Operations.
  • Hold one or more ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist.
  • Knowledge of Angular, React, Redux, and Java application frameworks.
  • Experience in building secure web applications with user authentication.
  • Understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
  • Experience in GRC and IRM is a strong plus.
