About the position

Discover Financial Services is seeking a Senior Associate Application Engineer specializing in ServiceNow to join our dynamic team. You will work collaboratively within a team environment, focusing on analyzing, designing, programming, testing, and deploying new user stories and features. Your contributions will help transition products from concept to production, ensuring they meet the highest standards of security, reliability, and operational efficiency. As a Senior Associate Application Engineer, you will utilize Discover's Agile Way of Working, collaborating closely with the engineering team and Product Owner to develop and configure solutions within the ServiceNow platform. Your participation in Agile ceremonies will be crucial to ensure that work is completed effectively and efficiently. You will also have the opportunity to propose innovative solutions to business challenges, leveraging your expertise in the ServiceNow platform to identify and address inefficiencies. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will engage in various team activities, including participation in the ServiceNow Engineering Chapter and Continuous Professional Education initiatives. You will also be part of a rotating schedule for Incident Management and Consumer Service support, ensuring that our systems remain operational and responsive to user needs. Your role will involve not only technical execution but also influencing team commitments and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. Responsibilities

  • Assist with analyzing, designing, programming, testing, and deploying new user stories and features.
  • Utilize Discover's Agile Way of Working to develop and configure solutions within ServiceNow.
  • Attend Agile ceremonies to ensure work is completed effectively.
  • Propose opportunities to solve business problems and inefficiencies using knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Participate in team activities including ServiceNow Engineering Chapter and Continuous Professional Education.
  • Engage in rotating Incident Management and Consumer Service support schedule.
  • Remediate issues using engineering principles and escalate risk and customer-impacting issues to management.

Requirements

  • Experience with ServiceNow platform and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong programming skills and experience in software development.
  • Ability to analyze and design software solutions effectively.
  • Experience in testing and deploying software applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to propose innovative solutions.
