About the position

The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development is a leadership role responsible for overseeing fundraising operations for the CSU Department of Athletics. This position involves strategic planning and execution of comprehensive fundraising strategies to enhance financial support for CSU Athletics and its NCAA Division I programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior leadership and management for fundraising operations.
  • Plan and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy for CSU Athletics.
  • Optimize financial support on local, regional, and national levels.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Develop and attain fundraising goals.
  • Hire, lead, and motivate a specialized staff.
  • Work successfully with internal and external constituencies.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, sports management, business, marketing, management, liberal arts, sociology, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive fundraising/development experience.
  • Proven record of success in identifying and cultivating major gifts.
  • Demonstrated skill in developing and attaining fundraising goals.
  • Experience in hiring and leading specialized staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Previous development or fundraising experience in intercollegiate athletics.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated creativity and energy in fundraising efforts.
