About the position

Grambling State University is seeking a Senior Associate Athletic Director for Fiscal Operations to lead the financial operations of its NCAA Division I Athletics Department. This role involves collaboration with university leadership to ensure the fiscal health and growth of the athletics program, which includes 15 varsity sports. Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily financial operations for the Athletics Department and maintain communication with the university's central financial office.
  • Lead the development, planning, and implementation of the overall athletics department budget, including multi-year financial planning.
  • Monitor and accurately project revenue categories and operating expenses for teams and administrative units.
  • Serve as the chief contact with the university's central financial administration and the Grambling University Foundation.
  • Prepare financial audits and reporting for the athletics department, including NCAA Financial Report and EADA financial report.
  • Conduct contract research and negotiations for athletic department vendor contracts.
  • Assist the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics with communication with financial leadership and the Grambling University Foundation Board.
  • Develop financial policies for Grambling State Athletics.
  • Assist with oversight of daily operations and long-term goal setting for the Finance Office.
  • Ensure successful financial performance of Grambling State Athletics.
  • Represent the Athletics Department at various conferences and meetings.
  • Supervise athletic finance office staff members.
  • Represent Grambling State's mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Sports Administration, Finance, Business or related field.
  • Five or more years of administrative experience, including four years of supervisory experience within a collegiate athletics program.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Sound judgment and maturity.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
