About the position

The Senior Associate - Civil Litigation Attorney position is designed for an experienced attorney with a strong background in civil litigation, particularly in representing survivors of sexual abuse. This role emphasizes compassionate client representation and full litigation management, allowing the attorney to handle complex cases independently while contributing to a supportive firm culture. Responsibilities

  • Provide empathetic, client-centered legal advocacy for survivors of sexual abuse.
  • Lead all stages of litigation, from case evaluation through trial, including drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal strategies.
  • Oversee all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests and managing document production.
  • Conduct and defend depositions of witnesses, experts, and adverse parties to collect key evidence.
  • Maintain clear, regular communication with clients regarding their legal options and case progress.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff, and mentor junior attorneys and staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of civil litigation experience, with a strong track record of representing plaintiffs in personal injury or liability cases.
  • Proven ability to manage complex litigation, including trials, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Ability to work with survivors of sexual abuse with compassion, respect, and sensitivity.
  • Adept at developing effective legal strategies with a deep understanding of litigation procedures and trial processes.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Must be an active member, in good standing, of the Maryland State Bar.
