About the position

ORIX USA is seeking a Senior Associate to support the Chief Strategy Officer in various strategic initiatives, including analyses, sector research, and evaluation of potential targets. This role involves collaboration with senior management and business executives across the firm, requiring creativity, problem-solving skills, and a self-driven initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business trends across ORIX USA and assist in the development of strategic plans across operations.
  • Research specific sectors and develop a comprehensive view of business trends, key players, and profiles of potential partners.
  • Assess performance of potential partners for strategic engagement and develop alternatives for partnership.
  • Develop preliminary models of feasibility regarding financial metrics surrounding potential targets.
  • Maintain a current view of potential and actionable strategic partners.
  • Assist with the development of a strategic client management plan and business development for key clients.
  • Develop materials for internal review of potential strategic initiatives and targets.
  • Conduct ad hoc strategic and financial analyses and other assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or deal advisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental business analysis and capital structures, with advanced knowledge of financial statement analysis.
  • Ability to research databases and public information to create thoughtful analyses of specific sectors or business strategies.
  • Exceptional written, interpersonal, and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Effective team member with the ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments, and work independently.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to accurately identify and summarize key information for executive communication.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
