About the position
The Senior Associate in Data Management & Quantitative Analysis at BNY Mellon plays a crucial role in analyzing internal and external datasets to develop statistical and financial models. This position involves providing analytical support, preparing reports, and guiding less experienced colleagues in quantitative analyses. The role is hybrid, based in Pittsburgh, PA, and requires a strong understanding of financial data and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal/external datasets and client reference data to provide analysis in the development of statistical, financial, and econometric models.
- Provide analytical support and prepare drafts of standard and ad hoc reports for assigned areas.
- Support assigned areas with advanced statistical and quantitative analyses under moderate guidance.
- Review accuracy of reports and calculations performed by less experienced colleagues.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports at the request of managers and/or other leaders.
- Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues and provide guidance to junior analysts.
- Apply techniques such as SQL querying and macro development to extract data for populating models.
- Understand relevant processes and products in assigned areas to support performance, risk, or valuation assessments.
- Translate complex technical concepts and analyses to non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced degree in quantitative analysis preferred.
- 5-7 years' experience preferred.
- Experience in quantitative finance and technology preferred.
